Meet Nicole, our dedicated practice manager, who attended Penn Foster College and Valencia College and has eight years of experience in veterinary medicine. She ensures top-notch care at every step. From efficient appointment scheduling to implementing advanced treatment protocols, she strives for excellence. Above all, she fosters a compassionate environment where pets and their owners feel valued and cared for, knowing their furry family members are in capable hands.
In her free time, she enjoys exploring the great outdoors with her own furry companions, indulging in some good scary movies, and pursuing creative hobbies like painting and sculpting.
Takai
Vet Tech Assistant
Meet Takai, your compassionate Vet Tech Assistant at the esteemed Animal Clinic of Casselberry. With 10 months of dedicated service in the industry, Takai brings a fresh perspective and a wealth of enthusiasm to the practice.
Graduating from FL Virtual School, Takai has quickly immersed themselves in the world of veterinary medicine, driven by a passion for animal care and well-being. What sets Takai apart is their exceptional ability to handle and restrain larger animals with ease and confidence, ensuring both the safety of the patients and the effectiveness of procedures.
Beyond the clinic walls, Takai finds solace and joy in the virtual realms of video games, where they hone their skills and unwind after a fulfilling day of caring for furry companions. Graduating from Southern Technical College, she brings 11 months of industry experience to her role, where she prides herself on her ability to help pet parents understand the importance of maintaining their fur babies’ health and happiness.
With a passion for veterinary medicine and a commitment to patient well-being, Brendalee excels in assisting veterinarians and ensuring that every pet receives the attention and care they deserve. Her empathetic approach and dedication to educating pet owners make her an invaluable member of the Animal Clinic team.

Meet Sydney, your compassionate guide at the Animal Clinic of Casselberry. With a heart deeply connected to animals, Sydney knew from the start that her path lay in their care. As a Client Service Representative, she brings three years of dedicated service to every interaction, seamlessly blending her love for animals with her expertise in client communication.
After graduating from Oviedo High School, Sydney embarked on her journey in the veterinary industry, where she found her true calling. What sets Sydney apart is her unwavering attention to detail and her commitment to fostering clear communication between the clinic’s staff and cherished clients. Yet, it’s the boundless love she showers on every furry friend that truly defines her approach to veterinary medicine.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Sydney’s life revolves around her beloved animals. Whether she’s gracefully gliding through level 1 dressage with her horse, Bear, or exploring the great outdoors alongside her faithful companion, Jolene, Sydney finds solace and joy in the company of her four-legged friends. And when she’s not immersed in the animal kingdom, you’ll find her and her boyfriend basking in nature’s beauty, whether on the river or amidst the trails of a picturesque hike.

Alex Emerson
DVM
Dr. Emerson attended Auburn University, College of Veterinary Medicine, where he was involved in several research projects before graduating in 2002, earning his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Dr. Emerson is experienced in general practice, soft tissue surgery, and emergency medicine. He has completed advanced training in acute scans, echocardiography (Sonopath), and advanced abdominal (Sonopath) ultrasound.
Dr. Emerson has been practicing animal medicine for more than 20 years. When he’s not seeing patients or catching up on the newest procedures, you might find Dr. Emerson at the skating rink, playing hockey, or watching his two sons play.
Dr. Carla Vega
Dr. Vega earned a bachelor’s degree in veterinary technology from the University of Puerto Rico before attending and graduating with honors from Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. She then completed a 1-year medical internship at Hollywood Animal Hospital in Hollywood, Florida.
She practiced for a little over a year before joining the Army in 2009. Dr. Vega served as Captain in the Veterinary Corps for 3 years and separated with honorable discharge in 2012. She returned to Texas where she practiced until her move to central Florida in 2019. She has been practicing in Orlando as a general practitioner and urgent care. Her primary interests include preventive and internal medicine, dental health, public health, supporting the human-animal bond, and hospice care.
She is fluent in Spanish and enjoys crocheting, baking, cooking, and spending time with her husband and 3 young sons. She has 3 dogs, Lluvia, Obi, and Winifred; 2 cats, Dulce and Obi, and a cockatiel named Rosie. She is a self-proclaimed Disney and Harry Potter fan and frequently visits the local parks with her boys.
